In the past, man did not have to think about the protection of the environment. There were few people on the earth, and natural resources(資源) seemed to be unlimited(無限的) .
Today things are different, the world has become too crowded. We are using up our natural resources too quickly and at the same time we are polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals If we continue to do this, human life on the ①_______ will ②_______ survive.
Everyone realizes today that if too many fish are taken from rivers and the sea, there will soon be none left. Yet, with modern fishing methods(方法) , more and more fish are caught. We know that if too many trees are cut down, forests will disappear and nothing will grow on the earth. Yet we continue to use bigger and more powerful machines to cut down more and more trees.
We realize that if rivers are polluted with waste products from factories, fish will die. However, in most countries wastes are still put into rivers or the sea, and there are few laws to prevent this. Also, weknow that if the population of the world is becoming larger and larger, in a few years there will not be enough food. What can we do to solve these problems?
If we eat more vegetables and less meat, there will be more food available for everyone.
③Our natural resources will last longer if we learn to recycle(循環再用)them. The world population will not rise so quickly if people use modern methods of birth control.
Finally, if we educate people to think about the problems, we shall have a better and cleaner planet in the future. In a word, it is very important to protect our environment.

If we continue to do this。 故填earth not。
Our natural resources我們的自然資源,last longer持續時間更成,if引導的條件狀語從句。
根據文中with modern fishing methods(方法) , more and more fish are caught.和We realize that if rivers are polluted with waste products from factories, fish will die. 1,Don’t take too many fish from rivers and the sea. 2,Stop polluting rivers and the sea with waste products from factories.
4.
In a word ,It is important to protect our environment.

The holiday’s upon us.After months of study, you have some time to yourself. So, why not read a book? Well, some people will say, “Why trouble with books? We have the Internet and other media(媒體)that offer a lot more colorful programs.Books are history!”
But don’t be fooled. There’s still a lot to be said for reading-and reading as widely as possible.
One clear reason is that a well-chosen _________is a wonderful collection of _______ and expressions, so long as you have a good dictionary, of course.Believe me, it’s far easier to get new English words and expressions from a book or article than it is from the TV or the Internet.
But an even more important point is that books give you something that modern media simply can not. The webpage(網頁)is always full of pictures and the text is often designed(設計) to make it as easy to read as possible.Though “easy” may be welcome, unluckily it’s of little use for any long-time development of reading skills and the general language level. For that, there’s still no substitute(替代品)for a book.
But perhaps the best single reason is that simply choosing what you read and doing it by yourself means that it’s something you do by and for yourself. You can choose what you want to read. It’s hard work, but while you are reading, you’ll find that what once seemed like a duty is now a pleasure.Reading can bring us great pleasure.
_______ _________
2.將(2)句譯成中文 ________________________________________________
How many reasons for reading books does the text mention?_________________
