I feel it really necessary to have a talk with you and I do hope this letter can help us better understand each other.
Mum, I understand your true love for me, but I have to say your opinion about my study is not quite right.
Firstly, I think high grades are important, but a student can’t be judged only by this standard. A student should develop in every respect, including wisdom, health and life attitude. In addition, hard work is not always a guarantee of top places in class. Good marks depend on many factors, such as diligence, intelligence and good luck.
